Glint's Eggs
Questions as obvious as these must have been asked before....
But what is the deal with Glint's eggs?
Their very presence doesn't make sense.
For Glint to have laid eggs (especially eggs that she would be protective of, implying they had young dragons in them), she must have got it on with a male dragon... but there are no male dragons.
If for whatever biological reason Glint had laid unfertilised eggs... then why would she have been defensive of them?
And assuming, by Glint's attitude, that the eggs do have baby dragons in them.... how the heck long does it take for them to hatch? Apparently Glint has been cooped up inside her lair for centuries.... if not millenia... and has she had the eggs with her all that time?
... And what will happen when they DO hatch? Will glint have to take maternity-leave from prophecising? Will juvenile uber-dragons take over the world?
Wait...
... Male dragon?
...... How long do you suppose Rotscale has been undead for?

Chickens lay eggs that are unfertilized... And all women ovulate I think.
But on the other hand, if you take one, she goes beserk, which would not be for no reason I guess. But that could also be answered with the above arguement by Amrak.
Maybe there are more dragons around, hiding in every grain of sand in the desert, just like Glint does... O.o I mean, if we don't see them, it doesnt mean they aint around. You dont see Glint untill you are ascended.
Ou and I just remembered there are a lot of Salt Spray Dragons in Cantha, though they seem to be from another sub-species. Or maybe her hubbie was just off to work that day we invaded her home and slapped her silly.
There are also species of animals that can collect the semen of the males and use it later. And there are species that can fertilize themselves if no other one of their race is present.

For all we know baby dragons or other dragons could simply be hidden from us so far. Then again considering Glint is a mystical being whats to say th eggs are also magical, What if Glint Was Trapped in the grain of Sand not of her own accord put was put there. Prehaps Glint infact is but one of a line of Dragons, once one dies a egg hatches and a new Glint or dragon is born to replace her, as a never-ending Curse type of thing. (which may or may not explain why Glints vision appears endgame even if you kill her)
Another possibility is that the Dragons are in a long term hibernation and Glint is the Guardian of the Eggs of the next generation of Dragons or possible they all died out in a mysterious way like they do every 100,000 years leaving just 1 alive to care for eggs until they hatch.
Or perhaps as mentioned above she just lays infertile eggs
Or perhaps just just doesn't like us touching her breakfast of self laid eggs, i mean shes got to eat some thing)

Glint eating dragon eggs would be some major kinda cannibalism. I'm not sure she'd engage in that, but I suppose we don't know.
I am fairly certain that it was mentioned somewhere in the official lore that Glint was the last living ancient dragon... so that effectively implies there are no males of her kind left. Kuunavang is an elder Saltspray Dragon... which as you can see by looking at her is something else entirely.
But given that I'm a sucker for a good tragedy, I'm still liking my own speculative notion that Rotscale is the re-animated remains of Glint's former mate.

Some birds lay unfertilized eggs and will protect them from anyone that wants to take them.

guys guys guys...you guys are using your heads way to much...use your EYES.
dont you see that these are large CRYSTAL eggs.
-Glint's eggs are actually materials that are going to be used on rare armor in GW:EN.
-All Glint is doing is protecting these RARE materials so that they will be worth more than all the ectos, rubies, shards, and sapphs combined!
Glint is a trading genius!
WTS Glints Egg 100k+Your whole account
And btw...you gotta put 2 and 2 together...GW:EN doesnt stand for "guild wars eye of the north" it stands for
-Glint Will sell all of her Eggs because she lives North of the crsytal desert
duuuuuuuuuuuuuuh
ps. on a serious note...i remember reading in one of the posts about GW2 about a dragon flying overhead or somethin and that killing the dragon could change the course of your game or somethin...could be one of glints little babies.

'Glint was the first being created by the gods.'
But it is not stated which gods, since it is also a fact that the five and Abbadon took the place of their predecessor gods, it is unknown wether Glint was created by the Five and Abaddon or their predecessors who already created a lot of other beings.

Then why don't we get to keep the eggs we find after we pick them up and go to the effort of slaughterising that scaled cow?
Meh...
Maybe Glint is really a man-dragon with a really effeminate voice, and so can dupe people into thinking he is a she..... and he didn't lay the eggs at all..... but rather was getting it on with Gwen .... who is actually a dragon in disguise.... and he was just lookin after the eggs till Gwen gets back.

That would be Gwen in dragon form.
.... Or you could be right.

Kuuny is DEFINITELY female.
So that would necessitate Glint being secretly male in order to get the eggs there.... Lesbian dragon-sex produces no eggs.

... Interesting idea...
Since I already have a mini-kuuny... I really need a mini-glint to go with it.
Wouldn't mind a mini-rotscale too... but I don't know anyone willing to part with theirs for less than a ridiculous amount.

... And the delightful censors come rampaging through and baleet a perfectly innocent post. Great.
*Makes an unseen, obscene gesture at the thought-police*
Still hasn't solved the issue of where Glint's Eggs come from (aside from the obvious answer of "from Glint")
I'm guessing it was an oversight on A-Net's part.

Here's a theory,
Glint's Crystal Eggs are magically created by Glint to create (and hatched through normal "biological" means - keeping them warm until they hatch) Facets of Glint. To take one would cause her much grief, as she won't know which Facet will be missing until the others hatch. Then they all won't be equal, as she must recreate the missing one and thus, that one will be younger and be picked on by the others.
Another Theory,
Glint has been chosen to be the guardian of the remaining dragons and encased them in Crystal Eggs. They will be released when the next "Age Of Dragons" comes to pass.
The whole truth may be revealed somewhere in GW2?

Imagine free-exploring the Crystal Desert in GW2 looking for the grain of sand. That'd be fun! ^^
Maybe Glint will show up in GW:EN or GW2. She's extremely long lived so it's definately possible.
